Privacy policy

In short

• Standard PDF tools run in your browser: your files are never uploaded to our servers.
• AI tools only send the document's text, encrypted, while it is processed. It is not stored.
• We sell no data and use no advertising or analytics cookies.

Data processed

Standard tools (merge, compress, convert, edit, sign, OCR, etc.): no file or content is transmitted. Processing happens on your device.

AI tools: the text extracted from the document and your settings are sent to our server and then to our processor Anthropic PBC (United States), which provides the Claude AI model, solely to produce the result. Ara PDF keeps neither the text nor the result. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models and keeps it at most for the period set out in its commercial terms check the current period on anthropic.com. Transfers outside the European Union are covered by the Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Trial counter: to limit free trials, we keep for 3 days an encrypted, non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address, together with the day's number of operations.

Pro subscription: payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland). We receive your email address and your subscription's ID and status, never your card details. This data is kept for the duration of the subscription, then for as long as accounting obligations require (10 years for invoices).

Local storage: your browser keeps a Pro access token (local storage), strictly necessary for the service, which does not require consent. You can delete it with “Sign out this device”.
